***Formally the Gummy Vision blog***
I'm a lady in her 40's who loves her beauty products! No makeup makeup is my game & pretty packaging gets me every time, though I'm willing to forgive that with skincare (but only if the product is effective!).
I'm a Stewardess who prefers quiet spaces and places, but I could talk all beauty all the time! Please enjoy your visit!

I've tried a few hand creams with sunscreen, but to date I haven't cared enough for any of them to repurchase or to buy the full size. Until now that is!!!
I went through my 2nd BBL (Broadband Light) laser treatment a couple of weeks ago, and just had my second microdermabrasion yesterday. My final BBL laser treatment is in a week, and my final microdermabrasion 2 weeks after that. Well, hopefully anyway! Depends on how good the 3rd treatment goes!
Prior to the treatments, I read that you have to be really gentle with your skin - no rubbing, tugging or trying to peel the healing spots off or things could look worse. Also you aren't allowed to use certain acids - mainly from what I gather you can't use acids that aid in exfoliation. I still didn't know quite what to expect or how my skin would react.
I use face mists pretty much everyday when I'm working. I love the extra boost of hydration in the dry plane air, and they help bring back the glow when I've powdered throughout the day. I've got 3 going at the moment: the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist, Medicell Hydrating Calming Facial Mist and Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist.
Thought I would show you what's in my current cleanser rotation, so here goes!
I've been trying to make more of an effort to sort through my stash of deluxe size samples, and the easiest ones to use seem to be cleansers!
I've been interested in exploring the Herbivore line after seeing their Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist here and there on blogs and Instagram. When I was ready to make an actual purchase, the Mist was OOS on Sephora so I decided to get the Pink Clay Cleansing Bar Soap instead - you know, just so I could try something!!
Are you ready for some skincare favorites to top off 2015?!!!
Here are some skincare items I've been testing out lately...
Even though I absolutely love my eye serum & cream combo right now, I'm always on the hunt for something different and/or better. Ahem...much like many other beauty things ha ha!! Way back in May, Liz talked about her Nordstrom Canada shopping experience, and mentioned that we all need the Amore Pacific Intensive Vitalizing Eye Essence. Yes, I took note of THAT!!
When it comes to skincare, I like the ingredient lists to be as simple as possible. And for a cleansing oil, no commercial ingredient list is going to be as simple as one you can make yourself! Oh, hey...and it's also a lot cheaper!
I've been playing around with making my own cleansing oil for well over a year now, and it has taken quite a lot of trial and error to find something I really like. There were a few times I thought I found a good combo of ingredients, only to try something else later and like that combo even better. Today I'm showing you my most loved recipe for a DIY Emulsifying/Rinse Off Cleansing Oil, along with some tips and tools you'll need to get started!
Bronzer Bunny told me I should try the African Botanics Marula Intense Skin Repair Balm several times last year, especially noting how much it helped with her scars. I finally got around to trying it, and can't believe I waited so long because I love it!
My latest 2 SPF fails have been the Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF50+ Milk, and the Kiehl's Super Fluid UV Defense SPF50+. The Bioderma Milk's finish was too shiny and tacky - even under foundation and powdered it looked much too dewy for my taste. If I added another layer of powder things started to look un-skin like. I tried it without moisturizer and the finish was better, but it still was a little too tacky to work well under makeup and dry parts didn't feel moisturized enough.
The Kiehl's was even worse, finish was too shiny and it didn't feel like it sank into my skin at all. I tried it without moisturizer underneath, but then my skin felt dry and the shiny finish was still there. I'll keep the Bioderma Milk to use on my body, but the Kiehl's is already in the purge pile.
Enter my latest SPF mission test...the Bioderma Photoderm Laser SPF50+!!
Bronzer Bunny told me about Skin Inc a long time ago, and it's been on my wish list ever since. Skin Inc's premise is that everybody's skin is different, and as such you should have your own personalized serum...who wouldn't want that!
The Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque had been on my list forEVER...one of those items that I always forgot about but then I'd see a video or post with it and say AH, why don't I have that yet??!!! That all changed during the Birthday Month!
You know how you keep keep trying different versions of the same product, hoping one brand or iteration might be the one you'll love??!! For some reason, I'm slightly obsessed with finding a konjac sponge I'll love and I keep trying different ones thinking one will stick. Ok, maybe it's just me?!! Ha ha! Anyway...here we have it...the latest round of konjac sponge testing...this time with the Boscia Konjac Cleansing CLOTH. Yep...a cloth!! See how it reeled me in?!
Strawberries. Strawberry jam. If you like those things then you should try this cleanser because it smells like the freshest strawberry jam!! It's not overpowering in any way, but definitely noticeable...even Mr. G said, WOW what is that??!!
I wanted to try this for awhile and finally was able to score a sample with a Sephora order. Best way I can describe this: a thick, cleansing balm jelly. I know...the word jelly threw me off but I finally understood once I squeezed it out of the sample packet. I was instantly hooked and waited forever for it to come back in stock. Finally resorted to tracking it down in a store because it was taking too long ha ha!
