Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque

Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque

The Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque had been on my list forEVER...one of those items that I always forgot about but then I'd see a video or post with it and say AH, why don't I have that yet??!!! That all changed during the Birthday Month

Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque - $39/2.4oz

This mask isn't what I thought it would be. From the reviews I've seen I thought it was more a spot treatment. But it's not - here's what the description says on the tube:

Perfectly formulated anti-oxidant clarifying masque designed for frequent deep cleansing. Suited to most skin types, this masque removes impurities and refreshes the skin.

So yes, not specifically a spot treatment, though I do find it helps calm swelling and irritation. It won't completely flatten an angry spot, but it does help...sometimes I'll even apply it twice in a row (leave it on for 15 min or so, rinse and apply again)...it is very calming and soothing. Plus, I can definitely smell the lavender which adds to the effect.

Otherwise I've been using this 1-2x per week on my oily chin and nose, depending on how my skin feels/looks. It helps draw the gunk out and I feel like I get less sebum build up - I'm one of those that squeezes the stuff out of my pores on my nose (sorry, gross I know!), and with this I've been doing it less often!

I don't travel with the whole tube, but decanted it travels really well. It's not runny at all so it holds its shape nicely (read: not messy!) in the above container. BTW, I buy these little containers in bulk from The Container Store, HERE, they are the 1/4 oz ones.

Here is a picture of the Aesop freshly applied. It feels slightly cooling on contact, and has a thinner consistency.

Here it is after a few minutes of drying time. You can see how it starts to change color a little.

While I don't think this is the amazing and routine changing mask I thought it would be from all the raving reviews, I do think it's very good and I'm happy to have finally tried it! Is it worth a repurchase?? Too early to say for now, as I think this tube will last a loooooong time - might be one of those where I'm ready to try something new by the time it's done ha ha...we'll see!
