Amore Pacific Intensive Vitalizing Eye Essence
***UPDATE: December, 2016. I went through a whole tube of this and loved it. I purchased a second tube and developed dermatitis on my lid and red bumps around my eye area. I tried other eye creams and serums after I realized it was this Eye Essence that was causing all the problems - they seemed to make things better for the first week, but after that the dermatitis returned. I finally stopped anything new and kept things simple. I'm not sure if my skin changed or if it's a common ingredient (or combo of ingredients), but thought I should mention it just in case anyone reading this has really reactive skin.***
Even though I absolutely love my eye serum & cream combo right now, I'm always on the hunt for something different and/or better. Ahem...much like many other beauty things ha ha!! Way back in May, Liz talked about her Nordstrom Canada shopping experience, and mentioned that we all need the Amore Pacific Intensive Vitalizing Eye Essence. Yes, I took note of THAT!! It's more than double the price of my beloved Sunday Riley Start Over Active Eye Cream (which I use as a serum & which the AP would be replacing), so it took me awhile to suck it up and break open my wallet. But I finally did.

The sleek tube is beautifully packaged. And though the tube is plastic, it does have a nice weight and feel to it. And I LOVE that you aren't dipping a finger into some little pot!
The Eye Essence is a very lightweight, slightly gel-like serum concoction. It's not quite a full on gel, but it's not watery thin either. For most people this will be substantial enough, but if you have very dry undereyes like me or prefer something heavier at night then this is better suited as a serum.
To dispense the product, press the silver button at the bottom...
...and you'll see the product surrounding the metal ball tip. Don't press too hard though (and it might take a few tries before you find the right pressure) - a full on press of the button releases way too much product. I just barely press, and there's plenty product to go around. I thoughT this little rollerball thing was a gimmick and probably wouldn't do much, but O M G it feels so darn GOOOOD!!! It instantly feels cool, soothing, and all massage-y and I could roll it around my eyes all day long and be quite happy ha ha!!!
I don't really get bags under my eyes or dark circles, so I can't speak to those claims. But it does help keep the fine lines very moisturized and in turn lessens their appearance. This also doesn't sting my eyes no matter how close to the lash line I get. This also sinks in really well and even without the rollerball action it feels nice and soothing.
The rollerball plus the Eye Essence makes for a pretty fantastic combination...there's just something about the whole thing that I really love. I'm even thinking it might be replacing the Sunday Riley Start Over Active Eye Cream as my HG. Yes, it's that serious!
With such a high price tag, I'm trying to use this as judiciously as possible. I'll definitely repurchase, but will keep an eye out for sales, and will probably keep the SR on backup just for times I can't catch a sale. Uh, when is the next Sephora 20% off??!!! Ha ha!
