Like many of you out there, I try a lot of product. But for as much as I read reviews and watch them on YouTube, sometimes no amount of information can be a substitute for real life testing and experience. And, ok...maybe...once in awhile...I get suckered into an impulse purchase ha ha :-)
All this to say, I try more than I review or mention on the blog because sometimes items get returned quickly, and I don't feel I've used them long enough to warrant a review. There are a few exceptions - sometimes I think a product is worth mentioning because of some standout characteristic (even if I didn't get along with it and didn't use it very long).
In terms of reviews, I am equally as interested to read why someone likes a product vs. why they do not like a product. And if they are returning something I want to know that too!! Ha ha basically I'm pretty nosey and if you are like me, then this post is for you!!
Curious yet? Are you interested to see what I've returned lately and why? Oh, and I'm going to include products that I would like to return, but the retailer won't accept them back.

Laura Mercier Spellbound Face Illuminator - too shimmery and I didn't like the color on me.
Blinc Mascara Amplified - I've used the regular Blinc mascara with success, but the formula was too dry on this one and it actually flaked on me.
Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Cream - took way too long to absorb and I didn't find it hydrating at all.
Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation - UGH. This felt so heavy and occlusive on my skin that I washed it off within an hour of applying it the first time.
Garden of Wisdom Shea (East) Butter - this is so oily that it just got all over the place. Evidently I needed to order the West shea butter that has a more solid consistency. Ordered this to use under my eyes and it was a mess. You need so little and it melts very quickly...can see it being good to use if you are making your own butters...but on its own I found it too greasy for my liking.
MAC Lustering - I tried this out during My Week In Lips. At first I thought I kinda liked the color? Turned out I didn't. Pretty in the bullet but not on me.
Koh Gen Do Liquid Treatment Concealer - first of all terrible color range (only 2!), second I found this difficult to work with. The consistency was kind of stiff and it settled into my lines after only a couple of hours. I also felt it was slightly drying under my eyes, and the color too light to use on blemishes.
