When the Armani Ecstasy Lacquers popped up on the Nordstrom site, they immediately caught my attention...admittedly for the packaging because they look so darn sleek!! Then I read the description and placed an order.

I'm a lady in her 40's who loves her beauty products! No makeup makeup is my game & pretty packaging gets me every time, though I'm willing to forgive that with skincare (but only if the product is effective!).
I'm a Stewardess who prefers quiet spaces and places, but I could talk all beauty all the time! Please enjoy your visit!

Both Bronzer Bunny and Jules Darling recently posted their current beauty goals, and I thought I would join in! Here's what I'm trying to accomplish or focus on through the end of the year:
Here are my Favorites for the month of September!
So far, 2 cream shadow releases this year have caught my eye: the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize and the Burberry Eye Colour Creams. The Charlotte Tilbury definitely didn't disappoint and are wholly worthy of all the good reviews I've seen. The Burberry Eye Colour Cream I tried, while not entirely a dud, didn't wow me either.
Originally I meant this to be just a quarterly Empties post, to encompass July-September. Buuuuuut...came to realize the last Empties I posted about was for April! So this post covers May-September, and going forward I'll keep it to just quarters. Hopefully!! Ha ha!!
As I get closer and closer to finishing the Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation, I find myself itching more than ever to buy a new foundation. Originally I told myself I wasn't going to buy another foundation until I had completely used one up, but lately decided I could buy one as long as I didn't have something similar in my small stash.
Even though I absolutely love my eye serum & cream combo right now, I'm always on the hunt for something different and/or better. Ahem...much like many other beauty things ha ha!! Way back in May, Liz talked about her Nordstrom Canada shopping experience, and mentioned that we all need the Amore Pacific Intensive Vitalizing Eye Essence. Yes, I took note of THAT!!
These are my favorite travel containers!
Not too long ago I did a big purge, which you can catch up on HERE. I sold some of it, and gave a lot away. I had full intentions to put the leftovers in a proper blog sale, but something kept me from actually doing it. Then something unexpected and out of character happened. I started to UN-PURGE. Yes, that's right. I started taking things out of the purge pile!!! I mentioned a few pieces HERE, but by the end of it I hardly had anything left. That purge pile was more like a straggling 3-4 items.
WHAT. HAPPENED.
I've had a few products that I have not particularly liked lately, and thought I would round them up into a single post instead of individual ones. Here goes!
When it comes to skincare, I like the ingredient lists to be as simple as possible. And for a cleansing oil, no commercial ingredient list is going to be as simple as one you can make yourself! Oh, hey...and it's also a lot cheaper!
I've been playing around with making my own cleansing oil for well over a year now, and it has taken quite a lot of trial and error to find something I really like. There were a few times I thought I found a good combo of ingredients, only to try something else later and like that combo even better. Today I'm showing you my most loved recipe for a DIY Emulsifying/Rinse Off Cleansing Oil, along with some tips and tools you'll need to get started!
With the exception of Narcissist, for some reason I haven't been in any rush to try Tom Ford blushes. That said, I did finally try one, and guess what? I love it!!
Way back at the beginning of the year, Jenn @ A Beautiful Zen 'tagged' me to do her Frugal vs. Spendy post. It's a look into what her price tolerance is, by looking at her lowest vs. highest paid amount for products in different categories.
After not being entirely impressed with the Tom Ford Complexion Enhancing Primer, I was excited to see this BECCA Backlight Priming Filter pop up.
Claire @ From the Land of Lorp tagged me several months back to do the Addicted to Blush tag!
It's funny because I don't really consider myself a blush addict, even though it's the one thing that always perks my face up! Blush lover...yes, that's what I prefer ha ha!! Lately I've been pretty fickle with colors and finishes - I'll use something for a bit and then suddenly it starts looking all wrong. So weird!
I've been in slightly less of a lipstick mood, and have wanted to venture into glosses again. I used to have a lot more, but my gloss stash is so tiny that I feel as though there are only a few that I end up wearing over and over: Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil, Burberry Lip Glow in Trench Kiss (from last Holiday?) and the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in Seduction. When these new Burberry formulas became available on Sephora, I went ahead and placed an order.
I'll tell you up front I absolutely love this shadow! The color is gorgeous, it's pigmented, but not so much that it's tough to blend out...quite the contrary it blends out and with other colors beautifully. I thought the shimmer might be too much at first, but I don't find it over the top - kinda perfect in giving the right amount of oomph.
I've always struggled to find a good nude lipstick. You know...one that doesn't make me look dead, yet doesn't give me Barbie lips. Every now and again, I'll see one that looks interesting, and inevitably not like it and give up hope - deciding instead I'm better off just wearing lip balm! Mini review time! Here are a few hair and nail things I've been trying out...
