I have trouble falling asleep many nights. When I explain it to other people, I like to blame my crazy work schedule and the fact that I'm a night owl by nature but often times have to wake up at 3am. But if I'm really honest with myself, most of my sleep troubles are self inflicted. Sure my work schedule has something to do with it a little bit, but mainly it's because I don't go to sleep at the same time every night and I fail miserably when it comes to tuning out and turning off…you know what I mean - phone, computer…I'm usually on Pinterest or reading product reviews when I should be doing that thing they call relaxing before bed time.
Enter the brand called This Works.
This Works makes all manner of products - a UK based company that strives to have effective, straightforward products. They also aim to be socially responsible, from packaging to the ingredients used. Read more HERE.
As an aside…ok, I had to look that up!!! When I started seeing This Works brand I thought it was a slightly awkward name that tended to catch people off guard because it didn't sound like a name for a brand at all. In fact, when I mentioned it to a few real life friends, it was inevitably proceeded by a blank stare, and then the additional reaction of "Huh?? What did you say??" But after seeing what products This Works offers, and reading about their philosophy…well it totally makes sense now!! Ha ha :-)
Eh, so back to it!!! This Works makes a range of products called Deep Sleep (they have other products too). They have a pillow spray, couple of products to apply to your pulse points, candle, body oil, hand and body cream, body wash etc. All have the aim to help calm and lull you to sleep. I had seen This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray on a few UK blogs and in videos, and was very intrigued!!

I opted for the Deep Sleep duo, called Deep Sleep Pillow Talk - includes the Pillow Spray and Stress Less. Stress Less is a small rollerball contraption.
This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Talk, $41 @ Beautyhabit.com and on Amazon (fulfilled by Beautyhabit so you still pay shipping).
I didn't do a search before purchasing, but did for the sake of this review…Beautybay.com has the set for $31.50 with free worldwide delivery (wish I had known!!)
Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, from Beautyhabit (there is also a version specifically for babies):
A fragrant pillow spray, the best beauty secret there is. The miracle solution to a good night’s sleep. With This Works signature relaxing fragrance, this pillow spray will become your must-have sleep solution.
Infused with essential oils of Lavender, Vetivert and Wild Chamomile to soothe the body and mind.
Sounds like magic!! I was highly skeptical, and wasn't crazy about the smell the first many times I used it. Despite not loving the smell, what did the Pillow Spray do for me?? I felt more calm…my mind slowed until all my thoughts became muddled and I eventually fell asleep. And I fell asleep more quickly than without the spray.
Nowadays, I only have about 1/4 of the bottle left and have come to absolutely love the smell of the spray!!! Seriously, it smells so good to me now I almost crave it. I love it so much, that I have since repurchased the spray and also purchased the body wash and oil (awaiting delivery), and eventually would like the candle! For the first many uses I could only use a couple spritzes on my pillow and sheets because of the smell…now I almost can't stop spraying! LOL! Good thing Mr. Gummy thinks it smells really good too!
How am I managing with the Pillow Spray today?? When I finally turn off the electronics (still need to work on that), this helps calm my mind and eases me into a very nice sleep :-)
Ingredients:
Aqua, Polysorbate 20, Parfum, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Oil, Cinnamomum Camphora (Ho Wood) Oil, Vetiveria Zizanoides (Vetivert) Oil, Ormenis Multicaulis (Wild Chamomile) Flower, Extract, Linalool, Diazolidinyl Urea, Geraniol ,Limonene, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate
So here is the rollerball 1/2 of the duo called Stress Less. This is the 5ml, and there is also a 10ml bottle.
While the ingredients differ a bit, I think it smells almost the same as the Pillow Spray, exception being the eucalyptus that does help me 'breathe easier' - I was gonna say clear my sinuses but that doesn't sound as nice?!! LOL :-)
I have been so taken with the Pillow Spray that I didn't see a need for this until a couple of weeks ago. On a whim, after my night time shower, I applied this to my neck and my wrists and sat down to catch up on some blog reading. I begun to get the same sense of calm, ease and Aaaaahhh that I get with the Pillow Spray. By the time I headed to bed, I felt the spray wasn't necessary…of course I sprayed anyway :-)
I've come to apply this most nights after my nightly shower, and it's a wonderful compliment to the Pillow Spray. At some point I'll get another rollerball to keep in my daily makeup case…for those times when I just need a moment...
