***Formally the Gummy Vision blog***

I'm a lady in her 40's who loves her beauty products! No makeup makeup is my game & pretty packaging gets me every time, though I'm willing to forgive that with skincare (but only if the product is effective!).

I'm a Stewardess who prefers quiet spaces and places, but I could talk all beauty all the time! Please enjoy your visit!

What Is That On Your Face?

My Skincare

Yes...what IS that on your face??? Ha! My brother actually asked me this on my wedding day (ok, we eloped and this happened before the family ceremony). What he was referring to was the eruption on my chin. I had several clusters of acne that decided to pronounce themselves about 2 months prior and were only just starting to heal. Not an ideal bridal moment, but an honest one. Yeah, I caked on the concealer and had my fingers crossed it wouldn't look that bad in pictures. BTW...that strategy worked and the pictures were fantastic :-) But I digress...

I think the breakouts were due to stress and stubbornly using the wrong, pore-clogging products. It's been just over 2 months since and my acne marks are almost, *hopefully* and *thankfully* all gone. It's been a tough and frustrating road, but has been great learning process.

I have been trying to really pay attention to my skin and analyze what it's doing, how it feels and using products accordingly. By doing this and also keeping somewhat of a skin diary, I've been able to eliminate several ingredients I should stay away from both in skincare and makeup. For my current routine you can click on My skincare page.

But this isn't meant to be a crazy long post about what happened to me!

If you were not blessed with amazing, maintenance-free skin I encourage you to start your own skincare journey. Identify your main concerns and start doing research. Google, blogs, YouTube, MakeupAlley (one of my favorite sites!!)...plenty of information out there to get you going in the right direction. Keep a diary, take pictures, ask questions, see a dermatologist if you need to.

It will take some legwork...you might need to only try 5 products...you might need to try 50. Whatever it takes - listen to your skin!! You don't have to have the cheapest nor the most expensive products either. You just need to find what works for you. After all, you only have one face...take care of it!!

Have you already started your skincare journey? I'd love to hear from you!

...And if you already watch YouTube beauty guru videos...or when you do start watching them...check out this "Shit Beauty Guru Girls Say"...LOLOL :-)
