Mini Review: Renee Rouleau Anti-Cyst Treatment

I'm always on the lookout for a good spot treatment, and this one caught my eye in a magazine! Unfortunately I do get cysts every once in awhile, though thank goodness they are usually minor - at least lately...I used to get big ones :-(

**No press samples. Item purchased by me. All shopping links are unaffiliated.**

Renee Rouleau Anti-Cyst Treatment, $39.50/.5 oz @ Reneerouleau.com

This comes in a small glass pump bottle...sturdy and I feel like I'm getting a little more for my $$ :-)

This has a pretty thin consistency...not quite water like, but almost. So despite only having .5oz in a bottle, this should last quite awhile because you need so little. In fact, I slow the pump with both of my hands because I don't want too much product to be dispensed and waste it!!

This works as most spot treatments...apply 2x/day unless you see irritation. I really like that it can also be used as a preventative treatment on areas that are prone to breaking out. As long as this is applied in a super thin layer (hard not to with the thin consistency)  it wears well under makeup. It also does not dry out or make my skin flake on the areas surrounding my spots.

I find this excels and works best on spots that are just starting to form and as a preventative treatment for my areas that are prone to hormonal acne. Some spots don't even completely form and just go away, while others go away in within a couple of weeks or less. Although, in all fairness it's hard to tell if those spots would have formed into actual cysts if left alone. For areas I use it as a preventative treatment, I see significantly less hormonal acne but it hasn't completely rid me of it (it is hormonal after all ha ha).

Otherwise, for existing spots I think it works just as well as my beloved Murad Acne Spot Treatment. Oh, and these both work very nicely to lighten leftover spots.

For application, the bottle says to apply one drop to a spot and somewhere else I read to use a q-tip. I'm not sure how exactly you would get one drop out since this is a pump and not a dropper bottle? I don't use a q-tip because I feel I would be wasting the product. Instead I just pump a very, very tiny amount into my palm and then apply with my finger.

Is this a must have?? Hard to say...$39.50 is a bit pricey for an acne treatment, but this bottle should last for quite a while. And if you feel like you've tried everything, then maybe it's time to try this?!!

From the Renee Rouleau site:

Anti Cyst Treatment by Renée Rouleau is a unique problem skin treatment formulated to heal and reduce inflammation of stubborn cystic acne blemishes that develop deep within the skin and can linger for weeks--or even months. When used immediately on a newly formed cyst, most will find they get approximately a 50% quicker recovery (if not faster) than when using nothing at all. This product has completely replaced the need for expensive cortisone injections for many of its users. If you struggle with cystic acne, this product is definitely for you.
