First Time With One Love Organics: A Cleanser, 2 Sprays & An Oil

This video from Andie @ Technocupcake finally gave me the push I needed to try a few products from One Love Organics! The products she mentions in the video are Limited Edition for the Summer, so you know, seeing the words Limited Edition I jumped right away!

After reading the product descriptions, I decided only on 2 of the Summer LE products. I was also interested in their permanent line, and decided on a couple of those as well. Here's what I ended up with!

***All items purchased by me. Non affiliate links included.***

Sooooooo...what do I think??

One Love Organics Apple a Day Brightening Facial Cleanser - This is a lightweight foam cleanser, one that is made into a foam as it is pumped out of the bottle. This doesn't remove makeup that well, so it's better suited to days I don't wear makeup or in the mornings. I also find it's not so great at cleansing my oily areas - I have to make sure to use a muslin or baby wash cloth with it (not a problem though because I usually use one anyway). Those 2 things aside, I really like this cleanser. I love that it's pH balanced, so it's not harsh on my skin. It's non-drying, and my skin looks and feels really fresh! Overall, a very nice and gentle cleanser. A big selling point for me is that it also has minimal ingredients.

I'm almost 1/2 way through this bottle, and have gone back and forth about repurchasing. I finally decided not to buy it again, only because this type of pump foaming cleanser is terrible to travel with - it leaks like crazy. It's been fine because I haven't been working, but once I go back I won't want to take it with me on trips. And I'm trying so hard not to have backups of things that will take forever to use. If I didn't travel for work I absolutely would buy this again. I will miss it for sure!

Ingredients: organic aloe juice (and) water, sodium cocoyl apple amino acids, capryl/caprylyl glucoside, organic glycerin, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, pyrus malus (apple) oil, gluconolactone (and) sodium benzoate, malic acid (and) glycolic acid (and) lactic acid (and) citric acid

Pretty Pores Complexion Toning Mist - I'll say up front that I have repurchased this already! Dermstore.com recently had 20% off and I went ahead and bought it since it's LE for Summer and I've been loving it and didn't want to be without it until absolutely necessary (whew deep breath ha ha!). It's made of 100% pure fruit water - grapefruit to be exact, which provides antioxidants and Vitamin C. It's also slightly astringent, so it helps keep my t-zone a tad less oily though not so astringent that it feels drying anywhere else (which is awesome because every other Vitamin C product has actually made me more oily). And I love that this provides Vitamin C in a spray vs. in a serum - so easy to apply! This also makes it easy to decant into a small spray bottle for travel. This is the first thing I spritz after washing my face, and it makes for a great mid-day refresher! And again, super minimal ingredients.

Ingredients: organc citrus grandis (grapefruit) fruit water, gluconolactone (and) sodium benzoate

Active Moisture Time Release Vitamin D Moisture Mist (Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics) - I was slightly scared to try this because it contains alpine rose extract, and I don't always have luck with products that contain rose ingredients. BUT Andie is so enthusiastic about this spray that I took a chance, and luckily I ordered it from Eco Diva Beauty and they have a great return policy. Yeah, this stuff is great. How great? I've got less than 1/3 of the bottle left, and am really annoyed that I didn't purchase it again during the Dermstore.com sale. Not because I didn't want to repurchase it - I thought I had a lot left, and since it's a permanent item I didn't feel the same sense of urgency as with the Pretty Pores Complexion Toning Mist. UGH I was so wrong! My bottle has a faulty nozzle that weirdly sprays out in a straight line so I decanted into a smaller spray bottle after I couldn't stand it any longer...and I haven't looked at the original bottle since the decanting so I completely forgot how much was left...looked last night and whoops. Andie was right, somehow this goes quickly! Regardless, I will be repurchasing :-)

Like the Pretty Pores, I love that this is a moisture spray vs. a serum - just makes it so quick and easy to apply, and doesn't feel even remotely heavy. I spritz this onto my forehead, cheeks, neck and décolletage after the Pretty Pores. And yes - it's another great mid-day refresher! It provides just enough additional moisture to help my dry areas feel soothed and comfortable. This is supposed to be time released to help you stay hydrated and deliver the active ingredients throughout the day. And minimal ingredients - sensing a trend yet?!! I'm finding more and more that my skin is better with as few ingredients as possible

Ingredients: aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice*, aqua (water), carthamus tinctorius (safflower) oleosomes**, rhododendron ferrugineum (alpine rose) extract** (and) glycerin, oryza sativa (rice) extract* (and) lentinus edodes (mushroom) extract*, polyaminopropyl biguanide

    *indicates organic

Supercritical Chia Seed Oil - Soooo...this might not seem terribly expensive up front, but keep in mind that $49 is only for 1/2 oz. Most oils come in 1oz bottles, and my favorite African Botanics Pure Marula Oil comes in a big 2oz bottle. Comparing apples to apples in terms of cost, the Supercritical Chia Seed Oil would be $196 for the same 2oz size of African Botanics Pure Marula Oil that's $80. <insert bug-eyed emoji here>   And to be honest, I saw the price and the size, but it didn't really register just how small the amount was until I received it. Whoops. Lesson learned.

Lucky for my wallet, I didn't get along with this. I tried it every which way, and no matter how much or how little I used it always ended up causing clogs. Here's what I did like about it though: quickly absorbed, felt lightweight, gave my skin a natural glow but not too much and felt almost soothing going on. But a lot of other, less expensive oils do that too. I'd say this is a nice treat if you've already experimented with a bunch of other oils and are looking to add something unique to the roster. But if you are new to oils, I think there are a lot less pricey places to start.

Ingredients: Organic Chia (Salvia hispanica) Seed Supercritical CO2 oil

Overall, I'm extremely happy with my first foray into One Love Organics!! During the Dermstore.com sale I did buy the Brand New Day Microderma Scrub and Masque to try - the 1/2 oz size is only $12 and they were having a GWP where I received another 1/2 oz along with my full OLO purchase (I bought Pretty Pores too). I'm not sure what the minimum purchase is because it's not listed on the GWP page for some reason, but it looks like it's still going on. Anyway, I'm excited to try it and will report back!!
