Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment
In my never-ending quest for not only my HG lip balm, an extension of that is an HG lip balm in tube form. Not sure how I even ran across this one, except that I was probably on Sephora and was probably browsing via 'all lip balms'!
First off I really love the packaging...comes in a sleek and shiny silver tube that actually has some weight to it! The cap clicks shut and is vey secure.
The texture is very smooth and glides on with ease...no tugging or pulling on the lips, nor does it require warming up like some balms do. I find this extremely hydrating, soothing and super comfortable to wear. The finish isn't glossy, which I really like...but it does give my lips a bit of naturally satin look. While this doesn't necessarily add color, somehow it enhances my natural tones to make my lips look much nicer! This also wears well over colored lip pencils, and is a good prep for later lipstick application. This is supposed to have anti-aging effects, but I can't speak to that at the moment.
Overall, I'm loving this balm so much that I've already purchased another one to keep in my travel toiletry kit!! The Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment is available for $27 @ Sephora, Nordstrom, Saks, Clinique.com and Clinique counters.
Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm
I've got quite a healthy obsession (ok, maybe not??!!) with Omorovicza and have so many products from the brand on my wish list. I'm currently testing the Thermal Cleansing Balm, so hopefully I'll be able to review it soon. Anyhow...more lip balm...yay :-)
The texture of this is really thick. But I only need a small dab and it instantly melts on my lips upon contact. In terms of hydration and actually healing my lips, I'd say this is as good as the La Mer Lip Balm (review HERE). It also feels very soothing. This does have a slightly glossy finish, unlike La Mer, so I don't find it works as well under lip product (it is a nice prep step though!).
I would definitely say I'd purchase this again, except that the scent kind of bothers me. It goes away after awhile, and is only mildly annoying (unlike the Tatcha)...BUT it's annoying enough that I kind of have to force myself to use it. I'll try my best to finish it, but not sure we will see pan??? How to describe the scent...kind of floral-y, slight hint of vanilla or something like it that I can't put my finger on. All that said, if you don't mind the smell or better yet even like it then this a really wonderful lip balm!!
The Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm is $45 @ Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Omorvicza.com (it's constantly OOS on the Omorovicza site so keep an eye out).
Renee Rouleau Toning Cloths
These caught my eye while browsing the Renee Rouleau site. I already love the Anti-Cyst Treatment and am on my second bottle (review HERE)...so thought it'd be nice to explore some other products from the brand. I bought a couple of toners to try with these cloths (of course ha ha!), and so far I love them!
These are really thin and gauze-like, but have a tighter weave than regular gauze.
Here's the texture of the cloths up close. I love my Shiseido Facial Cotton to death, but these are absolutely fantastic for applying toner or anything else with a similar texture. Why - because of the tight weave and thinness, these cloths waste a lot less product than with traditional cotton pads or even the Shiseido Facial Cottons! I definitely will be repurchasing these. EDIT: I don't like these to remove eye makeup (or makeup in general)...for that I like the more cushiony feel of the Shiseido! But for applying toners and such these are fantastic!
Renee Rouleau Toning Cloths are $13.50 for 160 pads @ Reneerouleau.com.
Burberry Lip Definer in Bright Plum
This had been on my wish list since seeing it in Indigo Kir Royale's post (I can't seem to find the original post where I saw the pencil but click HERE for her review), and I'm so happy I made the purchase!!
I have another Burberry liner in Rosewood, and find Bright Plum to be just as nice in texture. It is smooth and applies pretty evenly. However, I prefer to use this to fill in my entire lip area with a balm on top! It just gives the most beautiful color that lasts most of the day :-)
Outside sunlight.
Outdoor shade.
On my lips this looks somewhere between how it looks in the sunlight and shade swatches - not quite as warm as the sunlight, but also not quite as cool as in the shade. I'm very happy with this color and love having it in my collection!
The Burberry Lip Definer in Bright Plum is $27 @ Nordstrom, Saks, Net-A-Porter.
