Swatched: Bite Beauty Lush Fruit Lip Gloss and Custom Color Lipstick

A bit ago, I was working with a Flight Attendant who asked what I was wearing to make my skin all glowy...I played it off and said oh, it's just my oil coming through I need to blot...she said no, I can see slight shimmers on your forehead!! Well hello!!! Someone who recognizes makeup!!!

I was so happy to discuss makeup and told her it was the Guerlain Wulong compact. I said they don't make that specific one anymore, but the Meteorites and Voyage compact would be very similar. Oh, then she asked about foundation and tinted moisturizer and a few other things so we excitedly chatted the rest of the flight. I told her we could go to the mall on our layover to check everything out.

We hustled to the Guerlain counter at Nordstrom (South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA) - she ended up getting the Meteorites and wore them the next day! We decided to check out Sephora since she was less than thrilled with the tinted moisturizer she had tested at Nordstrom.

...whew...which leads us to the point of this post!! Sephora was having an event where with any Bite Beauty purchase you received a free full size customer lip color. Yes, please :-)

**No press samples. All items were purchased by me or GWP. All shopping links are non-affiliate links.**

Here's a picture from Instagram I posted of the Lip Lab ladies at work, with their trays and trays of lip colors to play with. I forgot to take pics of how they put it all together, but basically they melted a couple of colors together, mixed it up, then poured the mixture into a metal form. When the color was cool enough, they slid the bottom of a lipstick tube onto the bullet. They pulled the whole thing out of the metal form, twisted the bullet down and put the cap on. Voila!!

Here was the item I purchased to get the custom color...

Bite Beauty Lush Fruit Lip Gloss in Rambutan, $22/.13oz @ Sephora

Ok, I really love this gloss!! It's a bit thicker than my favorite gloss (Chantecaille Luminous Gloss), but the wear time is great and the formula is super moisturizing. The color is very pigmented - it's not your typical sheer gloss at all. Did I mention it tastes good? It is also very comfortable to wear and looks great layered under/over a number of colors! A little birdie told me that the fabulous lips behind Lipstick Boulevards loves this color too!

From the Sephora site:

Like instant nutrition for lips, BITE’s Lush Fruit Lip Gloss contains the same healthy ingredients you’d find in a pure fruit smoothie: real coconut, mango, and strawberry infused with seven nourishing fruit oils. Rich, vibrant, and juicy, this modern formula is highly pigmented. What you see in the container is exactly the color you’ll see on your lips.

Slanted applicator that is easy to use...and really that's it!! LOL!! Short n' sweet - I love this gloss! Swatches are at the end :-)

Bite Beauty Lush Fruit Lip Gloss ingredients:

Polypropanediol Dimer Dilinoleate (Vegetable Source), Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil (And) Hydrogenated Castor Oil (And) Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax (And) Beeswax, Pentaerythrityl Tetrabehenate/Polyhydroxystearate, Polyamide-8, Organic Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) Oil, Ricnus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil (And) Glyceryl Rosinate (And) Glyceryl Oleate (And) Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil Unsaponifiables.

Here's the custom color. It's the Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in a mix of Shiraz and Vouvray.

This is the final color! I didn't like the first one she tried on me but this one is much better. It actually turned out a little warmer on my arm swatches than on my lips, but nonetheless it's a beautiful color that I will definitely wear. It takes a few swipes to get the full color, but once applied it lasts really well until the first meal. It's also pretty hydrating for a lipstick, though I don't find it has much cushion or slip. Still, for what I'd deem a regular lipstick (vs. a balmy lipstick) it is very comfortable to wear.

On the left is in full sunlight, on the right is inside partly shaded window light. I took the second set indoors so you can see that it can be a bit cooler.

Overall I'm really happy with my choices!! Yay for GWP's!! Ha ha :-)
