Illuminators: Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel, Chanel Mouche de Beaute
Chanel Mouche de Beaute Illuminating Powder, $80/.42oz
Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder, $68/.28oz
Both are Limited Edition, and are available on Chanel.com. I ordered Mouche de Beaute from the Chanel counter at the Nordstrom Flagship in Seattle. Ondrea helped me and you can contact her @ 206.628.2111. I guess Mouche isn't available at every Chanel counter, only in stores that have a Chanel Studio or in an actual Chanel Boutique. Poudre Signee is available at most Chanel counters (I purchased mine @ Nordstrom in Norfolk).
I've never been much of a highlighter gal. I have tried so few I can even name them off: Mary LouManizer, Lancome Eclat Miracle and Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder in Candlelight. Mary LouManizer was too frosty on my skin. Eclat Miracle broke me out. Candlelight is one of my favorite makeup products!! It is so subtle and meshes so well with my skin tone that I can use it not only to highlight, but it also gives a perfect luminosity to my foundation (I don't use it on my T-zone, just from above my cheekbones to my jawline).
Then one day, a little birdie (AKA Joyce @Bronzer Bunny) pointed me to a blog post (I'm sorry I don't remember which one!!) that did a write up of Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel. I hadn't even swatched it and wanted it!! Right after Christmas my Husband and I were working together (he's a Flight Attendant, too!) and had a layover in Norfolk. We were a few blocks away from the mall so we went. I swatched. Oh, goodness it swatched so beautifully!!!
Then I saw Becca @ The Beauty Sample's post and wanted it even more! I finally purchased it a couple of weeks later.
Then the same little birdie (see how she gets me into trouble?!!!) pointed me to Cafe Makeup's post (here) featuring Chanel Mouche de Beaute. I fell hard. I think I fell even harder reading that it was LE and not yet available online and difficult to find in a store. I bought it sight unseen. Yeah, I'm a sucker. BUT it's gorgeous!!!!!
They come in signature Chanel packaging. I do like the design of Chanel packaging in general, but I wish it wasn't just plastic. For the price I really wish it had some heft and a more luxurious feel to it.
Both come in a velvet pouch. It has elastic around the back to hold the flap in place. Nestled inside is a flat, sponge applicator.
...and here we are!!!
...and hold onto your pants ladies and gents...check this next sunny outdoor pic to showcase these beauties in all their glory!! :-)
Now this, my dear friends, is much more like it!!! The late afternoon sun really enhances all the fine little details!! There is some sort of discoloration on Mouche, but from other blog posts it seems normal and doesn't affect the actual product at all. If you still aren't convinced, I tell you these are even more amazing and precious in person. No joke...sometimes I open them only to stare for a few moments!!
Mouche has some story behind it about the bee representing royalty and some other stuff I can't remember, but I just thought it was PRETTY!!! LOL!!! I am not willing to swatch these yet, but here are some lovely ladies who have - and they have amazing pictures!!! :-)
Best Things In Beauty (Mouche)
