I'm a lady in her 40's who loves her beauty products! No makeup makeup is my game & pretty packaging gets me every time, though I'm willing to forgive that with skincare (but only if the product is effective!).

LE Platinum Cream Color For Eyes - $42 @ Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's and Tom Ford Counters where still available. This no longer available on the Nordstrom, Bergdorf or Tom Ford sites.

I absolutely loved this formula - Over my Smashbox Photo Finish 24hr Lid Primer it lasted ALL day long...nary a crease or fading in site! The texture was so, SO smooth and very light...applied very easily...blended beautifully. I'll absolutely look at other colors in the future, but this Platinum did nothing for me. It just kind of disappeared into my skin, and building up the color didn't help much. From the swatches below, it seems like this would be gorgeous and that's what got me in the store - I swatched it an immediately fell in love! Too bad it wasn't as nice on my lids. Seems strange this would happen, maybe my undertones make for the perfect storm for Platinum to not be flattering. Sigh. At least I discovered a really fantastic formula :-)

Lip Color Matte in Ruby Rush & Plum Lush, $50 @ Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Saks, and Tom Ford counters.

The product descriptions all describe this as a 'velvet matte' and I would totally agree. It's not flat, but has a little something extra that makes it more flattering than a true matte finish. This glides on really nicely, and is very smooth and very pigmented (see swatches below). Just one swipe packs a punch! I do need to wear a liner with this, but I need to wear at least a clear liner with pretty much any lipstick I own (and even some darker colored balmy type lippies). I find both of these to be quite long lasting, without being drying. If you are someone whose lips tend to dry out though, be sure to prep well with a heavy duty balm or a lip primer. The Lip Color Mattes are what I'd call a proper lipstick...so if you are looking for creamy, dreamy hydration I'd probably look elsewhere or prep your lips accordingly.

I love Plum Lush, but didn't find Ruby Rush nearly as flattering as I had hoped. Despite being quite impressed with the formula, Ruby Rush ended up in the Blog Sale because it wasn't what I was looking for. That said, please see Shani @ She Dreams in Perfect French's review, HERE, because she absolutely loves Ruby Rush - she's also got some great comparison swatches!!

Despite a couple of colors not working out, overall I'm really impressed with the texture and performance of these two products!! Have you tried any of these?? What did you think?

Oh...and...
